Self Mutilation

Everyone hates to get a bad cut or scrape and when we get one, we all suffer through the pain of it. Some of us may have a higher tolerance than others but we all suffer to some degree. What is the first thought that crosses your mind immediately after the wound opens? My guess would be, stop the pain and stop the bleeding. Based on the things you have learned about stopping pain and bleeding, you would immediately use some sort of pain medication and bandage the wound. As time passed, you would continue to care for your injury until it would eventually heal.

Now imagine that instead of taking medication and bandaging the wound, you spent your days talking to others about how it happened, how much it hurt and then every time it started to show signs of healing you would pick at it until the pain came back and it started bleeding again. Would that make any sense? Why would you want to relive the accident? Why would you pick at it, recreating the pain? Why would you not let it heal and just learn from the incident?

It may sound like something a crazy person would do but this is what we do sometimes with the things that happen to us in our lives. We retell the stories of pain over and over. We pick at our emotional wounds until they hurt almost as much as the first time. Once we are bleeding again, we stand around wondering why we these things happen us.

Let time heal the wounds. Use what you know, to make it heal faster. Once it has healed, let it be and use the experience to learn and move forward.

जीवन में जब सब कुछ एक साथ और जल्दी-जल्दी करने की इच्छा होती है, सब कुछ तेजी से पा लेने की इच्छा होती है, और हमें लगने लगता है कि दिन के चौबीस घंटे भी कम पड़ते हैं, उस समय ये बोध कथा, "काँच की बरनी और दो कप चाय" हमें याद आती है । दर्शनशास्त्र के एक प्रोफ़ेसर कक्षा में आये और उन्होंने छात्रों से कहा कि वे आज जीवन का एक महत्वपूर्ण पाठ पढाने वाले हैं... उन्होंने अपने साथ लाई एक काँच की बडी़ बरनी (जार) टेबल पर रखा और उसमें टेबल टेनिस की गेंदें डालने लगे और तब तक डालते रहे जब तक कि उसमें एक भी गेंद समाने की जगह नहीं बची... उन्होंने छात्रों से पूछा - क्या बरनी पूरी भर गई ? हाँ... आवाज आई...फ़िर प्रोफ़ेसर साहब ने छोटे- छोटे कंकर उसमें भरने शुरु किये, धीरे-धीरे बरनी को हिलाया तो काफ़ी सारे कंकर उसमें जहाँ जगह खाली थी, समा गये, फ़िर से प्रोफ़ेसर साहब ने पूछा, क्या अब बरनी भर गई है, छात्रों ने एक बार फ़िर हाँ.. कहा अब प्रोफ़ेसर साहब ने रेत की थैली से हौले-हौले उस बरनी में रेत डालना शुरु किया, वह रेत भी उस जार में जहाँ संभव था बैठ गई, अब छात्र अपनी नादानी पर हँसे... फ़िर प्रोफ़ेसर साहब ने पूछा, क्यों अब तो यह बरनी पूरी भर गई ना हाँ.. अब तो पूरी भर गई है.. सभी ने एक स्वर में कहा..सर ने टेबल के नीचे से चाय के दो कप निकालकर उसमें की चाय जार में डाली, चाय भी रेत के बीच में स्थित थोडी़ सी जगह में सोख ली गई...प्रोफ़ेसर साहब ने गंभीर आवाज में समझाना शुरु किया – इस काँच की बरनी को तुम लोग अपना जीवन समझो... टेबल टेनिस की गेंदें सबसे महत्वपूर्ण भाग अर्थात भगवान, परिवार, बच्चे, मित्र, स्वास्थ्य और शौक हैं, छोटे कंकर मतलब तुम्हारी नौकरी, कार, बडा़ मकान आदि हैं, और रेत का मतलब और भी छोटी-छोटी बेकार सी बातें, मनमुटाव, झगडे़ है.. अब यदि तुमने काँच की बरनी में सबसे पहले रेत भरी होती तो टेबल टेनिस की गेंदों और कंकरों के लिये जगह ही नहीं बचती, या कंकर भर दिये होते तो गेंदें नहीं भर पाते, रेत जरूर आ सकती थी...ठीक यही बात जीवन पर लागू होती है...यदि तुम छोटी- छोटी बातों के पीछे पडे़ रहोगे और अपनी ऊर्जा उसमें नष्ट करोगे तो तुम्हारे पास मुख्य बातों के लिये अधिक समय नहीं रहेगा... मन के सुख के लिये क्या जरूरी है ये तुम्हें तय करना है। अपने बच्चों के साथ खेलो, बगीचे में पानी डालो, सुबह पत्नी के साथ घूमने निकल जाओ, घर के बेकार फ़ेंको, मेडिकल चेक-अप करवाओ.. टेबल टेनिस गेंदों की फ़िक्र पहले करो, वही महत्वपूर्ण है... पहले तय करो कि क्या जरूरी है... बाकी सब तो रेत है.. छात्र बडे़ ध्यान से सुन रहे थे.. अचानक एक ने पूछा, सर लेकिन आपने यह नहीं बताया कि "चाय के दो कप" क्या हैं? प्रोफ़ेसर मुस्कुराये, बोले.. मैं सोच ही रहा था कि अभी तक ये सवाल किसी ने क्यों नहीं किया... इसका उत्तर यह है कि, जीवन हमें कितना ही परिपूर्ण और संतुष्ट लगे, लेकिन अपने खास मित्र के साथ दो कप चाय पीने की जगह हमेशा होनी चाहिये ।

Some say I am a betrayer betrayed,but if I have never betrayed anyone,and have just been betrayed in love why would you say this ? Is it because after you hurt my heart and split it open that when I hated you I became a betrayer ?Or is it because I wont let anyone in because the pain hurts ? Am I the betrayer full of hate for you? It is true I hate you but there is a part of me that wont let you go. I still hate you or how you hurt me,but I still love the way you were and how you would hold me in your arms. Now I feel like I'm falling.. To Whom shall i complain?

I really dont know why i still love her.... what made me to love her? i got nothing from her except the deep pain in the heart, still i love her.... even she is not with me... hoping that one day she will realise my love and come to me.... this waitng is soooo sweeeeeet... i hope and trust she will come to me one day surprisingly before i die... so, i will wait, wait and wait for her untill i die... There's no more pain in me for you, The pain that filled my sleepless nights, Where the darkness brought tears, Cold tears my eyes have shed.. Each and every lonely one, Brought memories filled with love. The love i once felt for you. Still, as long as it let's you go... But now I live to hide away. Where I belong from you...

आना जब मेरे अच्छे दिन हों… एक आना जब मेरे अच्छे दिन हों जब दिल मे निष्कपट ज्योति की तरह जलती हो तुम्हारी क्षीण याद और नीली लौ की तरह कभी-कभी चुभती हो इच्छा जब मन के अछूते कोने में सहेजे तुम्हारे चित्र पर चढ़ी न हो धुल की परत आना जैसे बारिश मे अचानक आ जाए कोई अच्छी सी पुस्तक हाथ या कि गर्मी में छत पर सोते हुए दिखे कोई अच्छा सा सपना दो जब दिमाग साफ़ हो खुले आसमान की तरह और् हवा की तरह स्पष्ट हों दिशाएं समुद्र के विस्तार सा विशाल हो मन् और पर्वत-सा अडिग हो मुझ पर विश्वास आना तब वेगवान नदी की तरह मुझे बहाने आना जैसे बादल आते हैं रुठी धरती को मनाने तीन आना जब शहर मे अमन चैन हो और दहशत से अधमरी न हो रही हों सड़कें जब दूरदर्शन न उगलता हो किसी मदांध विश्वनेता द्वारा छेड़े युद्ध की दास्तान आना जैसे ठंडी हवा का झोंका आया अभी-अभी आना जब हुई हो युद्ध समाप्ति कि घोषणा अभी-अभी चार आना जब धन बहुत न हो पर हो हो यानि इतना कि बारिश में भीगते ठहर कर कहीं पी सकें एक प्याला गर्म चाय कि ठंड की दोपहर में निकल सकें दूर तक और जेबों में भर सकें मूंगफलियां बैठ सके रेलगाड़ी में फ़िर लौटें बिना टिकट छुपते-छुपाते खत्म होने पर अपनी थोड़ी सी जमा-पुंजी आना जब बहुत सरल न हुई हो ज़िन्दगी पांच जब आत्म-दया से डब-डबाया हो मेरा मन जब अन्धेरे की परतें छाई हों चारो ओर घनघोर निराशा की तरह जब उठता हो अपनी क्षमता पर से मेरा विश्वास तब देखो मत आना मत आना दया या उपकार की तरह आ सको,तो आना बरसते प्यार की तरह छह छूना मुझे एक बार फिर और देखना बाकी है सिहरन वहां अब भी जहां छुआ था तुमने मुझे पहली पहली बार झुकना जैसे धूप की ओर झुके कोई अधखिला गुलाब और देखना बसी है स्मृतियों मे अब भी वही सुगंध वही भीनी-भीनी सुगंध पुकारना मुझे लेकर मेरा नाम उसी जगह से और सुनना प्रतिध्वनि में नाम वही तुम्हारा प्यारा नाम सात मुझे अब भी याद है लौटना तुम्हारे घर से रास्ते भर खिड़की से लगे रहना एक छाया का रास्ते भर बनें रहना मन में एक खुशबु का रास्ते भर चलना एक कथा का अनंतर जब घिरे और ढक ले मुझे सब ओर से तुम्हारी छाया तब आना खोजते हुए किरण की तरह अपना रास्ता आठ इतना हल्का कि उड़ सकूं पूरे आकाश में इतना पवित्र कि जुड़ सकूं पूरी पृथ्वी से इतना विशाल कि समेट लूं पूरा विश्व अपने में इतना कोमल कि पहचान लूं हल्का सा कोमल स्पर्श इतना समर्थ कि तोड़ दूं सारे तटबंध देखना मैं बदलूंगा एकदम अगर तुम आ गईं अचानक नौ देखो तुम अब आ भी जाओ हो सकता है तुम्हारे साथ ही आ जाएं मेरे अच्छे दिन
